About the Council
Papakura is a District
Council and is responsible for the business, environmental and cultural
amenities and infrastructure of Papakura. The District's community
includes around 45,800 residents and more than 3,400 businesses as well
as other government agencies and community-based service providers.
The
Council continues to pursue its vision of meeting local resident
needs while retaining the District's unique town and country living,
through a range of services, programs and
initiatives directed to residents, businesses and visitors.

Mayor and
Councillors
Papakura
District Council is composed of the Mayor and eight Councillors.
The Council is selected by voters in elections held every three years.

The Mayor of
Papakura District is elected on a "District-wide" basis. The Councillors
are elected by
wards,
of which there are four in the District – Pahurehure, Drury, Red Hill
and Ardmore.
