Papakura
District Council Triennial Elections: 2007
Triennial elections for elected members of all local bodies throughout
New Zealand are to be conducted, by postal vote, on
Saturday 13 October 2007.
The elections will be conducted under the provisions of the Local
Electoral Act 2001, the Local Electoral Regulations 2001, and the Local
Government Act 2002.

Wiri Licensing Trust Members (6 Members for part Pahurehure Ward
electors only)

Electoral Systems Poll
In
addition to the above elections, a poll of all electors will also be
held on the electoral system to be used for the 2010 and 2013 triennial
Papakura District Council elections. Voters will be asked to choose
between First Past the Post (FPP) and
STV
(Single Transferable Vote) system.

Electoral System
All elections will take
place using the FPP (First Past the Post) electoral system, except for
the Counties Manukau District Health Board, which will use the Single
Transferable Voting electoral system. The term for office
is three years.
Note, STV was used by
the Papakura District Council for its 2004 triennial elections, but FPP will be used for the 2007
Papakura District Council triennial elections.
