What
is an inorganic refuse collection?
An
inorganic refuse collection is where the Council collects broken
furniture, appliances, carpet, bikes etc that have come from private
homes. Any metals and tyres are recycled and the remainder is disposed
of to a landfill. Items must be able to be lifted by two people.
Fridges and ovens should have doors removed for safety reasons. Also any
child car seats or bike helmets that are being disposed of because they
have been in a crash should be cut up or disabled so that they cannot be
scavenged for re-use.

Who can put rubbish out in the Inorganic Collection?
Residents of Papakura District are the only people entitled to
participate in the collection. They may only place inorganic rubbish out
on the frontage of the property in Papakura District that they live in.
People who are not entitled to participate in the collection are
illegally dumping rubbish will be fined between $400 and $20,000. This
includes Commercial rubbish.

I know about it?

collection is due. Also a full-page advert will appear in the community
newspaper in advance.

do I put my rubbish?

weekend prior to your collection.
