Draft Long-term Council
Community Plan 2009-2019 Summary
The Local Government Act
2002 requires councils to consult with the community about the future
direction of their districts and to produce a Long-Term Council
Community Plan (LTCCP) that sets out outcomes the community wants to
achieve and the activities of the Council over the next 10 years.
Progress Papakura, our LTCCP, guides the development of the District and
gives us a long-term framework for making decisions.
Key issues for
consultation - submissions closed 27 April 2009
Council sought feedback on
the “business as usual" budgets and work programmes, and also
wanted views on a number of other proposals. These were mostly projects
that will provide further benefit to the community but, if they are
included, will also mean higher rates increases.
Feedback about whether any or all of these projects should be
included will help the Council come to a final decision. In two cases,
the Council has decided that projects should either be down scaled or
not proceeded with because of the costs and risks associated with them.
These matters are presented for your feedback as well.
