Dangerous and Insanitary Buildings Policy This document sets out the policy adopted by Papakura District Council in accordance with the requirements of the Building Act 2004. The policy is required to state: 1) the approach that the Papakura District Council will take in performing its functions under the Building Act 2004; 2) Papakura District Council’s priorities in performing those functions; 3) how the policy will apply to heritage buildings. Development Contributions Policy Council’s policy on the requirement of development contributions from developers where the effect of the development is to create additional units of demand for which Council will incur (or has already incurred) capital expenditure to provide for community facilities and infrastructure. Policy available here. Earthquake Prone Buildings Policy This document sets out the policy adopted by Papakura District Council in accordance with the requirements of the Building Act 2004. The policy is required to state: 1/ the approach that the Papakura District Council will take in performing its functions under the Building Act 2004; 2/ Papakura District Council’s priorities in performing those functions; 3/ how the policy will apply to heritage buildings. Partnerships with the Private Sector (PPP) Policy A policy adopted under section 102(4)(e) stating Papakura District Council’s policies in respect of partnerships between the local authority and the private sector. Policy available here. This policy is intended to address the main issues impacting on the provision of public conveniences in the District. The primary aim of the policy is to provide a framework for consistent decision making and thereby ensure that public conveniences are adequately distributed, suitably located and clearly signposted; and that they meet the needs of the community and visitors in terms of access, safety and facilities available. Policy available here. Papakura has become well known within the greater Auckland region for its abundance of mature evergreen and deciduous trees. Also recognised for their ecological significance and value to the community are Papakura’s scenic reserves and bush lots with remnant native forest, including Kirks’ Bush, Margan’s Bush, Redmount Scenic Reserve, Red Hill Scenic Reserve, Dominion Reserve, Kauri View Reserve and Sonja Reserve. The role of the policy is to ensure the right tree is used in the right place for greatest social and environmental benefits.
