Rates 2009/2010
Rates are a "tax" on
properties that provide the Council with money needed to pay for a broad
range of services, programs, facilities and infrastructure - from parks
and playgrounds to roads and rubbish collections. All Councils in New
Zealand charge rates.
Our Commitment

committed to maintaining a strong financial position for the District.
The city’s population is growing, leading to increased and changed
demand for Council services. The Council is working hard to deliver the
best quality facilities and services while also maintaining its

added to the amount of rates unpaid for each instalment after the due

outstanding on 1 July.

Am I entitled to a rates rebate?
Papakura District Council
continues to be responsible for the Central Government Rates Rebates
Scheme. This scheme is for people who are on low incomes and have high
rates. Your application should be made to the Council. We will then
process the application and advise you, if you’re entitled to a Rates
rebate.
The Council will take into
account the amount of your Auckland Regional Council rates bill when
assessing your application. You will still need to pay your regional
rates bill in full, but the amount of your regional rates could have a
bearing on how much of a rebate you are entitled to on your Papakura
District Council rates bill.
